How to recognize SPAM messages

BerandaArtikelUmumHow to recognize SPAM messages

SPAM messages are becoming an increasingly serious problem for each of us, and the reason - the creators of these messages are becoming more original and emails look more and more like real email. Having already written about the options by which you can reduce or avoid these emails, today we decided to look at a few basic rules when checking if a message is not SPAM.

Let's take a closer look at the levels of SPAM messages

1. Marketing / promotion / advertising

In most cases, these messages are harmless because their main purpose is to offer some type of service, advertise a promotion or introduce you to a future seminar. Although harmless at first glance, beware, because they can always contain links leading to malicious pages

2. Thank you for using our service

You receive a message in which the CEO of a Chinese LED lighting company thanks you for buying a product from him and wants feedback from you, even though you have never done so. The first purpose of such emails is to confirm that yours is valid by replying to them. The next step is usually some kind of fraud attempt. When receiving such messages, it is advisable to simply ignore or remove them

3. You made a lot of money

Keep in mind that if you win a certain amount of money they will hardly contact you via email. Like the banners on some websites on this topic, such messages are intended only to harm you by stealing some kind of data

4. Email with attachment

Unless you know the sender of this message and you are not sure that it is authentic, never download or open the document in question, because it most likely contains a virus. We will give you an example of such a message:

5. Message from PayPal, Google, bank and the like

This type of SPAM message is extremely dangerous because it directly requires you to have your bank account details. These emails mimic almost 100% of the actual similar messages, but with the difference that the links lead to Phishing pages. This is the main type of fraud and many people succumb to such messages. And here is an example:

Съобщение от PayPal, Google, банка

In such cases, review in detail the sender of the messages and where the shared links lead. If you are unsure, try contacting the actual sender for more information on whether they actually sent such an email.

As you can see, seemingly innocuous emails can have very serious consequences. We encourage you to always review your emails with extra security in mind.
