DNS (Domain Name System)

DNS (Domain Name System) is a system for names on the Internet, through which domains are translated into IP addresses.

Once a user registers a domain name, such as "mywebsite.com", it is recorded in a special DNS registry. The domain can be directed to the IP address of the server where the files on the site are located - either by setting up name servers or by changing its DNS records ("A record"). Once the domain is targeted, when a user enters it in the browser, the site located on the specified server is loaded.
